Rogelio Juarez
I am a graduate from the University of California- Santa Cruz with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and currently employed at Kumu Networks. I was part of SHPE for my last 3 of 5 years at UCSC before I graduated in 2018, and loved every moment of it. I would like to share what I have learned so far from working in the Industry and help out any young Engineer in anyway I can.
Always remember everything is about balance. Try not to get wrapped up in studying all the time, because once you're out of college there's no going back, so party it up once in a while! I hope Motiv is still lit haha
Favorite Memory/Activity in SHPE?
SHPE bbq's at the SHPE house (idk if you guys still do that, hopefully the boat hasn't sunk haha) and the SHPE National Conference
How did SHPE contribute to your success?
Networking and the SHPE conference led to me landing an internship at Intel, which led to a full-time job after garduation
Any words of wisdom for incoming freshmen/transfer students?
Do what makes you happy because once you graduate and start working, if you hate what you're working on life is going to be tough. Also don't settle for less - if you feel you can do better, than do better!
