Arturo Cisneros

Major:

Electrical Engineering B.S.

Graduating Class:

2006

Current Job:

Product Engineer at Analog Devices

Hi! I joined SHPE UCSC as an incoming transfer student in 2003 and remained a member of the SHPE community both during undergrad and grad school.
I started working in Semiconductor Industry as an intern at Linear Technology in 2008 while finishing up my MSEE at SJSU.
Currently I am a Product Engineering Manager at Analog Devices working on Power Management ICs.

Favorite Memory/Activity in SHPE?

Attending conferences, Bomba Cup futbol tournaments... but I think what I remember the most were our Sunday night potlucks at Crown/Merrill Apartments. Really felt the sense of family with the rest of the SHPE members.

How did SHPE contribute to your success?

Probably as a transfer student from a community college, the instant connection with peers that I could relate to while we worked hard towards our degrees. This helped me succeed as an undergrad because we supported each other and also helped each other with research and internship opportunities such as CfAO and UCLEADS.

Any words of wisdom for incoming freshmen/transfer students?

Words of wisdom? I think this probably applies whether you are new to college or new to the job market. Your opportunities to succeed are only as good as the genuine relationships you are able to build. Engineering is a hard degree to pursue and just as hard of a career to pursue, but having people that know you are capable and can vouch for your work ethic always goes a long way. Also always try to pay it forward. And sprinkle in some fun.
