Aaron Ramirez
Hi everyone my name is Aaron Ramirez I graduated in 2016 with a degree in Computer Engineering. I was involved in SHPE for ~4 years and held various officer positions culminating in being president from 2015 - 2016.
SHPE was a huge part of my time at UCSC as it provided me with a great group friends and peers that were instrumental to my personal and academic well-being. One thing I loved about SHPE is that it allowed me to meet people that shared my interests in electronics. I think that this allowed me to keep sight of what originally drew me to study Computer Engineering during the difficult times throughout my college career.
SHPE also facilitated my professional growth by exposing me at conferences to leadership concepts and motivating me to strive to be a better individual. These were opportunities that I otherwise would not have had without SHPE and I believe these helped me stand out when applying for jobs and ultimately lead to my employment at Google.
